No, it was not the food but the company. I had lunch with a church friend Sandy who works round the area. We bumped into each other a couple of times in the hospital and it was only today we managed to lunch together. Yesterday in church I bumped into her at children's church and she mentioned we should have lunch together some time. I thought it was just a flippant remark. When I received an sms early this morning, I realised I was wrong. At first, I wanted to turn it down and just give some lame excuse cos I do not know her very well but I sort of forced myself to go ahead.
I met her for lunch and it went really well. I enjoyed our conversation a lot. We had lunch and adjourned for a quick dessert at Haagen Dazs. Though the whole thing lasted less than an hour which went by so quickly I really enjoyed it. It's kind of funny cos whatever I dread at first, I realise I tend to appreciate later. Was thinking back to why I enjoyed the lunch so much. The only reason I can come up with other than the fact Sandy is more of an extrovet is expectations. Figured that since it was only a lunch and with an acquaintance I really did not have any expectations of anything. So, the conclusion is really simple, expect nothing and you'll be happy with anything! :)
